What makes her so different from the other classes is her ability to move in and out of powerful stances using cards. It’s little shit like this you should be thinking about. The Watcher is Slay the Spire's fourth character, a blind ascetic - a kind of monk - who has come to evaluate the Spire. Whetstone upgrades two random attacks in your deck, but what if the only two unupgraded attacks are strikes? Check the card first to see if there’s an attack you want to add, THEN grab whetstone. Something else to consider is grabbing cards before relics like whetstone. Spire is one of those games where you get out of it what you put into it. It’s really easy to mess up stuff like this by playing carelessly. You have orichalcum and one defend in your hand that is now only blocking for 3. You need to think about it while you’re fighting too. Of course there could be a situation where shrug it off is better than metallicize even if you have orichalcum, but this is the stuff you should be thinking about. Like if you have orichalcum, grab metallicize instead of shrug it off and then you get 9 block for not blocking. Always be looking at your relics when you’re picking cards and try to get as much synergy as possible out of them. Other than that, you’re rewarded for being meticulous. Some of it just takes time: learning enemy placements and movesets, learning all the events and where they appear, card pools, hidden mechanics, etc. I'm not sure why i'm replying to this schizo post seriously You're making vague statements like "you only need to assign values to cards and the game plays itself" but never elaborate on what this means exaclty, what cards are good? under what circumstances? what path should be taken throughout each act? what should be bought at shops? when should you visit a shop? what boss relic should you pick? how many elites should you fight if any? how do you account for the rng element of card choices, for example how would you win a run if every card reward was an attack common? (extremely unlikely and extreme example but you get the point) You claimed you "solved" the game after playing for a day "because you were a pro mtg player" but all the good sts players were pro card game players and none of them claim the game is simple, lifecoach has 2000+ hours in the game and has always maintained the game is complex It's so strange how you speak so confidently about this despite having no clue what you're talking about Every little decision matters in this game, none should be taken lightly It’s little shit like this you should be thinking about.
